Feed Me (Live) @ Aragon Ballroom (Saturday, August 23)

This week’s event spotlight is one for the electronic books. Experiencing a rapid rise with his unique and infectious sound construction a few years ago, Feed Me  has been making hard-hitting electro and dubstep for a while. Getting his start in drum ‘n’ bass, then gradually expanding his horizons, Feed Me has been around the world making people rage. The Aragon Ballroom isn’t prepared for what this guy has to offer. Paired with the likes of Luminox, this show is bound to make the walls sweat and the roof crumble. If you don’t do anything else this weekend, try scalping a ticket to this one, because it’s been long sold out.

Primary always brings the grooves over the weekend. Lane 8 from San Francisco is no different. His house beats are unique and soothing. But, have no fear, house isn’t always butterflies and sunshine. If you need to blow off some steam and shake what your mamma gave you, Lane 8 has what you need.

Truth & Zebo @ The Mid

Coming all the way from New Zealand, Truth is coming to the intimate setting of the Mid for a dark night of sexy. His heavy beats and deep sounds are bound to creep out the feeble, so don’t bring them. Hometown hero Zebo is bound to turn up the noise as well for a unique night of awesome.

Vanilla Ace @ Spybar

Don’t let the name mislead you, Vanilla Ace is more than a play on a familiar name, he’s a new take on a familiar sound. This guy takes nu disco to another level. Mixing this with a touch of house, Vanilla Ace is bringing the best beats from across the pond.

Conspirator @ Concord Music Hall

Conspirator was a close second when it came to the event spotlight this weekend. Alas, difficult decisions have to be made and this is an inarguable competitor to the biggest electronic event this weekend. The hard hitting sounds headed your way for this event may leave your ears ringing, your face hurting from so much smiling, and your muscles very sore from dancing.

Anthony Attalla @ Spybar

Antony Attalla is quickly rising to stardom this year as Chicago’s electronic scene gets bigger and bigger. Very near to the birth place of house, local DJs in Chi get a lot of credit in this city, mostly because they learn from the best.  Anthony has a unique sound that’s as chiseled as his jawline. If you need some sexy grooves, head to Spybar.

Sometimes you need to think out of the box for a pick me up after the long weekend. This event is bound to do that. The incredibly distinct and unique sound coming from both Robin and Röyksopp are bound to be a great pick-me-up. These amazing musicians have come a long way to entertain Chicago. If you’re sick of the usual electronic four-on-the-floor, check out this event to expand your mind in a beautifully musical way.

EC Twins @ Roof on theWit

If you’re looking for someone sexy to look at this weekend, how about a couple sexy someones? The EC Twins are here to melt hearts and minds with their skillful beats at Roof on TheWit. The perfect venue for this event, you won’t stop dancing to these good looking twins from across the pond. You won’t find a better way to close out your weekend.
