About Caprices Festival

The Caprices Festival was founded in 2004 by five music lovers determined to connect their region to the international music scene and who were convinced that they could create an event that stood out from the others by virtue of its location and originality.

Their determination paid off, as Caprices rapidly became the springtime musical event not to be missed. After a first edition in which 10,000 visitors participated, the festival’s notoriety and size quickly grew over the years, as evidenced by the 60,000 visitors who took part in the 2013 edition. Caprices has built a strong international reputation thanks to its exceptional location in the Swiss Alps, its eclectic and high-quality programming of world-renowned artists, and its showcasing of new and upcoming Swiss talent. From Lou Reed to Iggy Pop, Scorpions, Samael, Robert Plant, Björk, Portishead, Nas, Fatboy Slim, Erykah Badu, Deep Purple, Mika, Nelly Furtado, etc., the Caprices Festival has been host to some of the biggest and best artists in the world. For the last 10 years Caprices Festival has showcased the essentials from hip-hop, rock, pop-folk, reggae, and electronic music including Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Sven Väth, and Carl Craig.

Part of Caprices Festival’s appeal lies in its unique offerings: winter sports lovers can ski during the day and attend concerts in the evening, electronic music lovers can dance to the finest sound systems and DJs, and music lovers can attend an eclectic mix of live concerts. To align itself to the dynamic desires of the public, Caprices Festival is in continual evolution. Innovations, such as changing the festival length to 9 days (since 2013), new packages (festival access + accommodation + ski tickets), and several surprise events characterize its originality and continue to distinguish the festival as a unique event.
