Electrobeach Music Festival at Lydia’s Beach

After years of being a pilgrimage spot for sun seeking holiday makers, the former fishing village of Port-Barcares is now readying itself for its biggest catch yet: a host of the best EDM disc spinners this world has ever produced.

Some 40,000 revellers will be there to witness the occasion as house, techno and trance gods make their way to the south of France for a weekend few will forget in a hurry. The festival site takes place across the beautiful Port-Barcares beach and in the Gardens of Lydia, where a great cruise ship of the same name has run aground.

New for 2014, France’s biggest EDM music festival will have three stages: its huge Main Stage, the return of the Beach Stage, which will also host a few live performances, plus another arena that the festival team are keeping under their hats for now.

Organizers will also go all out with over-the-top decorations and L.E.D. screens so large, they can probably be seen across the water in Africa. With a campsite nearby, festival-goers can spend the days in Balearic Sea, wandering along 8km of Blue Flag beaches and exploring the nearby pine forests for shade. What’s not to love?
