Longitude Festival at Marley Park

When it comes to indie music festivals, it’s hard to beat Longitude. An open air festival with several stages, Longitude takes place on the beautiful grounds of Marlay Park in Dublin, Ireland. In 2013 there was one main outdoor stage and a three tented stages. Though details are just starting to come out about the 2014 event, the word on the street is that the stage setup should be very similar.

We do know that the festival will take place from July 18^th to July 20^th, and many of the acts have been announced: Disclosure, Ben Howard, Bastille, Chvrches, Sam Smith, John Talabot, Cyril Hahn, Bondax, Roosevelt, James Vincent McMorrow, Haim, Hozier, Bonobo, Julio Bashmore, and Le Galaxie.

The promoters are taking a unique approach to the release of names: They’re gradually announcing names as it gets closer to the event. Surely this is done to create and enhance buzz, and it’s certainly working! Concert-goers are already comparing what we know about this year to what we know about last year.

Last year dozens of indie acts took the stage, including Phoenix, Django Django, Foals, Jake Bugg, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, White Collar Boy, Vampire Weekend, Paul Kalkbrenner, Kraftwerk, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Half Moon Rising.
