If you’re not familiar with Gesaffelstein let’s say — with utmost respect — the guy is pretty fucking dark. And that’s a great thing. When so many artists across genres are going with the grain to make a buck or get to top quickly, it’s good to see someone making badass dark techno because they want to. The French have always made some slightly different, often original music.
After getting heavy praise at the 2012 rendition of Electric Zoo, he returned to do a back-to-back with his Bromance Records co-owner Brodinski. This year, the man known as Mike Lévy is back to take command of the Beatport Stage on Friday night at the festival. To get in the spirit, check out his recently released “Hate Or Glory” remix. Then, scoop it up for free download.
Let’s just say, this one takes the original and goes way darker. It’s a blitzing techno track that will get any pulse moving. It’s no wonder this guy is being sought out by music’s most creative artists today. If you like wild, different techno get on this track. We’ll be seeing him on the Beatport Stage. Absolutely.
Before you grab it up, remember the original “Hate Or Glory” video below. The very dark, and gold, techno video better win the VMA for Best Cinematography this year.
