'Merica!: Help Crown America's Best DJ and Win Awesome Prizes
Let your voice be heard and win sweet prizes! Pioneer DJ and DJ Times are back for the eighth year in search of America’s Best DJ. They are asking you to vote online, on your phones and in person at their tour stops this summer for who you think are the top five DJs in the good ol’ US of A. One winner and a guest will win an awesome trip to Las Vegas that includes VIP status at the closing ceremony on October 12. Be sure to follow America’s Best DJ on Facebook and Twitter to win monthly prizes from Pioneer DJ and G-Shock watches.
Past winners have included Kaskade, Z-Trip and Markus Schulz, just to name a few. Voting is tight and constantly changing. Who are your top five? Might we suggest:
- Slide 1 of 5
Alvin Risk
He may not have released a large body of work, but Alvin Risk puts out quality. When it comes to creative music, Alvin Risk is one of the names at the top of the list. See him live to find out.
- Slide 2 of 5
Diplo
When isn’t Diplo included as one of the best? The DJ/producer had another slamming year with hilarious videos, an EP and one of the most underrated tours of the year in the Mad Decent Block Party. With the tour expanding, the year only got better thanks to a killer Ultra set with Skrillex as Jack U.
- Slide 3 of 5
Skrillex
Speaking of Jack U…
Sonny Moore had another noteworthy year. With the release of Recess he proved that he can put out more killer albums. He might get shade thrown on him from some, but this dude takes risks on a constant basis. When it comes to daring and awesome, Skrillex is hard to top.
- Slide 4 of 5
Markus Schulz
The release of Scream 2 should be enough for Markus Schulz to be back at the top. One of the trance family’s leading members, the Unicorn Slayer himself has had another year of impressive performances throughout the world. When watching Markus it’s hard to tell what he does best: work the crowd or the decks.
- Slide 5 of 5
A-Trak
The man behind the Dipset revival, A-Trak deserves a top five for this feat alone. His production skills were top notch as usual. Live or in the booth, A-Trak is one of the best around. His work on “NRG” with Armand Van Helden (aka Duck Sauce) produced one of the catchiest and funniest videos in recent years.
