HARD Summer 2014 Music Fest: August 2-3 @ Whittier Narrows Recreation Area

Judging from the immensely impressive lineup, HARD Summer is about to see one of its biggest years yet. With artists manning all bases from the harder genres of EDM to house music, this event’s roster looks like a grand slam for dance music fans on the dupstep/trap/electro team as well as those who are fiercely loyal to the deeper house and tech side. The event is already sold out, so hopefully you got your tickets early or are vigilantly monitoring Craig’s List.

The Do LaB pres. Autograf, Gibbz, and Lou E. Bagels @ King King

The Do LaB brings Autograf and Gibbz to Hollywood for their King King debut.  Accomplished as both an artist and a musician, Autograf fits in perfectly with The Do LaB’s eclectic events that showcase all of the most unique talents in musical excellence and visual aesthetics.

DS#ARP LA pres. Deep Elements @ The Broadway Bar

This week is the third edition of DS#ARP (prounounced DSHARP), hosted at the intimate  Broadway Bar located at 830 S. Broadway Street in Los Angeles. The event was created to “showcase the best talents in house and techno” in a setting that focuses purely on the music. DS#ARP runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with free entry all night long and boasts great drink specials.

Friday, August 1

Awakening ft. JES and Arctic Moon @ Exchange LA

This Friday, Insomniac Events and Exchange LA present JES and Arctic Moon. JES is the woman behind the euphoric and beautiful vocals on multiple hit trance tracks, such as Gabriel & Dresden’s “Motorcycle,” BT’s “Every Other Way,” and “As We Collide” by Paul Oakenfold and Christian Burns. She will be joined by the talented uplifting/melodic trance producer, Arctic Moon. This will be a beautiful night to come get your PLUR on.

Start to Feel Tour: Cosmic Gate and Andrew Rayel @ The Hollywood Palladium

What a big weekend for the LA Trance Family as the stellar trance duo, Cosmic Gate, takes the stage at The Hollywood Palladium for their Start to Feel Tour. The night also features the Moldovan Prince of trance, Andrew Rayel. We can already feel the love and see the kandi-covered arms in the air. This is an 18+ event.

Framework Fridays presents All Gone Pete Tong ft. Pete Tong, Robert Dietez, and Nitin @ Sound Nightclub

Pete Tong’s monthly residency returns to Sound Nightclub this Friday. The BBC pioneer and house music icon and taste-maker is known for showcasing the best in established stars and up-and-comers. This week, our musical chef serves up the dynamic and technically savvy German producer, Robert Dietz, along with DJ Nitin who hails from Toronto, Canada.

Inception ft. Justin Martin, Dusky, and Destructo @ Exchange LA (Official HARD Summer After-Party)

San Fran house aficionado and co-founder of the deeply delicious Dirtybird label, Justin Martin, makes his return to Exchange LA. Joining him will be the unbelievably talented London-based underground duo, Dusky, and one of LA’s local bragging points, Gary Richards, aka Destructo. They will be coming in HOT from the HARD Summer Music Festival and ready to after-party, so bring your dancing shoes and get ready to get down.

Avaland pres. Axwell @ Avalon Hollywood

This Saturday, Avaland welcomes the internationally renowned Swedish producer, Axwell, during his only scheduled weekend in California so far this year. Formerly, he made up 1/3 of the late Swedish House Mafia, but this performance will mark his first solo performance in Los Angeles in three years, and what better venue to host this event but the historic (and newly remodeled) Avalon Hollywood.

Arcade Saturdays ft. Sick Individuals @ Create Nightclub

Dutch EDM duo Sick Individuals headlines at the SBE and Insomniac club collaboration, Create, in Hollywood this Saturday. Create is well known for its “festival-like” massive dancefloor, so if you weren’t able to make it to HARD Summer, you can come to Create for your fill of shoulder rides, fist pumping and beats.

If you are desperately clinging to every last musical fiber of HARD Summer’s hypothetical being, then Exchange LA is your venue Sunday night as they host the HARD Summer after-part featuring Rudimental, Gorgon City, Kidnap Kid, and Breach.

SoundsLike Sundays ft. Trent Cantrelle, Ben Seagren, and Atnarko @ Room 86

Trent Cantrelle is the resident DJ and label boss of SoundsLike… dubbed Hollywood’s local Sunday Funday home for house music by the most knowledgeable of music connoisseurs and industry professionals alike. SoundsLike has a contagious vibe and an upbeat and energetic crowd, both essential to any real dance party… you know, where people actually dance. Just Be is the new endeavor by the artist Matthew B, formerly known as Bushwacka! Just Be has been deeply integrated within the underground warehouse and rave scene since he emerged in the UK music scene back in the ’80s. Having played at some of the world’s most infamous and well-respected venues such as Amnesia, Space, DC10, and Cocoon, he will feel right at home with the industrial decor and superior Funktion 1 sound system at Sound Nighclub, Hollywood’s number one venue for the sultry, deep, underground vibe that Just Be gravitates towards.
