DJOYbeat Event Spotlight
Justin Martin/EatsEverything @ Story, Saturday June 21
Since its inception little over a year ago, Underground Story has become the Saturday night party for Miami locals (it even has its own hashtag). Link and Miami Rebels, the people behind the party, never fail to deliver quality acts and this weekend they’ve invited Dirtybird crew co-founder Justin Martin and UK native EatsEverything to set the mood at Story nightclub. EatsEverything (also known as Daniel Pearce), will be coming to us straight from the Summer Solstice Festival in Iceland. Opening up for them is Miami favorite and LINK/Miami Rebels resident, Hardline, who has warmed up the stage for legendary artists at some of the city’s most lucrative parties. We expect the music to be thumping and the room to be full of soul, as usual. Get your tickets to this one early – they’re $30 for girls and $40 for guys. You’re going to want to arrive relaxed and ready to be carried away. Remember, dress code is lax on Saturday nights only.
Thursday, June 19
Just Dance presents Showtek @ LIV
Once again, Just Dance delivers a first class act for all those revelers who don’t want to wait until the weekend to turn up. This week the master of ceremonies is Dutch electronic music act Showtek. Known for their crazy parties and high-octane sets, from techno to hard style to more progressive big-room house and hard-hitting electro. The music will probably lean more toward the latter two genres at LIV this week, so expect a high level of energy in both the music and the club experience as a whole (it is LIV, after all). Tickets are $30 for girls and $40 for guys.
Homegrown Heroes Showcase @ Do Not Sit On the Furniture
Since it opened its doors for the first time last September, Do Not Sit has become one of locals’ most beloved venues for good music and good vibes. The roster features some of Miami’s best and brightest artists in house and techno, including Milo T., Dakap (SK Supreme) and ALX (playing as Axtrakt), and will likely draw one of the warmest, most welcoming crowds you’re likely to find on South Beach. Show your Miami/Miami Beach ID for free admission.
Cultivate presents Hunter/Game @ Treehouse
Born of the artistic imagination of two Italian producers, Hunter/Game is all about depth and sensuality. Drawing on pop and electronica influences, the duo has created over the years a brand of techno that’s quite unlike anything you’re likely to hear at a mainstream club. If you want to get lost, this party will be your one-way ticket. Limited presale tickets are available for $10.

Gab Rhome @ Do Not Sit On The Furniture
If you run an internet search on DJ and producer Gab Rhome, you’ll find little information about him as an artist. The self-proclaimed “golden savior or secret love affairs/fresh prince of time-travel” prefers to be known by his music. His tracks have a way of washing over you that is difficult to forget once you’ve experienced them on a dance floor. This Friday he’s making his way back to his favorite club in Miami (and one of our favorites, too), Do Not Sit On the Furniture. Do Not Sit resident Surreal Flight will be warming up the dance floor after the doors open at 10 pm. Dress code is not enforced.
Jack Beats @ Mansion
If you’re more in the mood for a large venue with a high-energy crowd, make your way to Mansion nightclub on Washington Avenue this Friday to unleash your inner superhero with Jack Beats. Considered pioneers in Britain’s electro scene, the pair is notorious for playing sets that leave fans utterly exhausted but never unsatisfied. If you are familiar with the term “bass-face,” this would be the show to wear one to. General admission tickets for the evening are $30. Doors open at 11 pm and dress code is strictly enforced.
Nervo @ Story
What’s better than hearing a proper big-room progressive house set at Story? Watching two beautiful women take charge of the decks and take us on that journey. This Friday, satisfy both your ears and eyes at Story with the lovely ladies of Nervo. Its always a great time and never a dull moment with the Nervo twins, and its unlikely the evening will pass without at least one half of the duo getting up on stage with a confetti cannon to blast revelers. Ticket are set at $30 for girls and $40 for guys. Dress code is strictly enforced.
Sex Panther @ SET
If the name Sex Panther alone doesn’t make you curious, then you’re not a true Miami club-goer. Quirky (in a strangely attractive way), best friends Ryan Fontana and Aaron Cool made a name for themselves by trying to revolutionize Hollywood’s top-4o VIP-driven club scene. Their tag-teaming is seamless, and they manage to always engage the crowd in an unpredictable way, whether its feeding revelers shots or throwing down impromptu monologues on the mic (think Oliver Dollar’s “Doin’ Ya Thang”).
Irie Weekend/Nick Cannon @ LIV
If you’re looking for a break from the EDM club experience, you can head to LIV instead to enjoy Irie Weekend with a guest performance by Nick Cannon. DJ Irie will take care of the evening’s sounds, providing patrons with the best in hip hop and top 40. Tickets are $40 for girls and $60 for guys on Wanttickets.

Adam Beyer @ Space
If you’ve never been to the legendary venue Space, this Saturday would be the night to make the trip to Downtown Miami. This weekend welcomes techno visionary Adam Beyer back to the Terrace room for another monumental set. In the Loft, revelers can further satisfy their techno itch with Circoloco veteran and 8-year resident of DC10 Ibiza, Andrew Grant. Tickets are $20 if you plan to be there before 12 am. After midnight, the price jumps up to $30, but we consider that a bargain given all the rhythm that’s going to be saturating the former warehouse turned nightclub.
Paul Van Dyk @ Mansion
If cold dark beats and minimalism really aren’t your thing, never fear – we have another party on the opposite end of the musical spectrum for you. Satisfy your sweet tooth for uplifting melodies this Saturday when Mansion welcomes back Vandit mogul and trance legend Paul Van Dyk. Tickets are $30 and we think that’s an absolute steal.
KNR Nightlife Group presents Swedish Mid-Summer Party with Sebjack @ Wall Lounge
Swedish DJ and producer Sebjak’s signature unique blend of groovy house and earthy, sensual techhouse has caught the eye of label bosses and has packed dance floors around the globe. This Saturday he’ll be headlining at the W Hotel’s Wall Lounge for KNR Nightlife Group’s annual Swedish Mid-Summer Party. Expect to rub shoulders with industry types all night – Wall often serves as the post-work hangout for the best and brightest in Miami’s hospitality, nightlife and music industries. Tickets are $40 for girls and $50 for guys.
R3HAB @ LIV
Everybody needs a little R3HAB every now and then. This Saturday we welcome back the man himself to work his magic over the crowd at LIV. The Dutch DJ has never been known to leave even the toughest crowds disappointed – expect a full-on sensory overload, from confetti cannons to champagne showers. Doors open at 11 pm., and tickets are available via LIV’s website for $40 (girls) and $75 (guys).

Headliner Market Group presents Jadakiss @ LIV
When it comes to hip hop and a VIP experience, #LIVONSUNDAY is incomparable to anything you’ll find on the Beach. This Sunday, in celebration of Michael Gardner and Louis Oliver’s birthdays, LIV hosts D-Block Records label boss and Def Jam superstar Jadakiss as the evening’s master of ceremonies. Also included on the artist roster are Stevie J and Don P. Doors open at 11 pm, and dress code will be strictly enforced.
Evolution Sundays with Louis Dee @ SET Nightclub
End your weekend the right way: amidst all the glitz, luxury and glamor of SET nightclub and its beautiful patrons. Miami resident Louis Dee will be warming up the dance floor and keeping the crowd moving all night long while the team at SET makes sure your cup is filled with bubbly and your eyes are filled with dazzling lights and beautifully-costumed dancers.
