About 2720 CherokeeWhen it comes to eclectic venues, 2700 Cherokee Performing Arts Center takes the cake. At home in the historic Cherokee Station Business District, this venue first opened their doors in 2009 and the owners haven’t looked back. The space spans three floors and includes upwards of 20,000 square feet of space. It would be impossible to summarize the varied events that take place here, but they include concerts, art exhibits, classes, and charitable fundraisers.
In 2010 the Riverfront Times voted 2720 Cherokee the Best New Club, thanks to the intuitive setup of the music venue portion of this space. A huge stage, plenty of dancing room, and a sound system that’s as good as it gets are the highlights of the dance space.
If you stop by at the right time you can visit the 5,000 foot 3rd floor art gallery and experience not only the best of St. Louis and national artists, but live artists who make you a part of their multi-sensory work. On any given night you might find an African dance class, hula-hooping fans, indoor drum circles, or your run-of-the mill yoga class. At 2720 Cherokee, you never know what’s going to happen.
On the weekends you can party to world-famous DJs, dub steppers, and reggaeton’s who make the most of this unique space. From ravers to club kids to hippies and hipsters, the crowd is as eclectic as the venue.
