For functions and events that require a truly unique atmosphere, Academy and Candy Bar are available for function bookings 7 days a week with a variety of room configurations to fit your party size and budget. In 2003, the historic Center Cinema was transformed into a multi million-dollar ‘super club’ the first of its kind in Canberra, with state of the art lighting, video equipment and sound system. In Academy’s 8 years of operation, the venue has won multiple awards including best late night entertainment venue for three years in a row. Academy has undergone multiple renovations to remain the premiere entertainment venue in Canberra. We have four different size spaces available and our team of hospitality professionals are ready to look after you and your guests. Free Entry every Thursday night, 4Some Thursdays is your excuse to sleep in on a Friday. You will find Academy’s best DJ’s playing the best in Top 40 and House in the main room, and some groovy disco and RnB tunes delivered in the CandyBar DJs!  Some Thursdays is your one stop dance floor for your biggest night out! Each week a very snappy photographer will be capturing all the fun, so make sure you visit the website to see if you can spot yourself!
