Detroit has a long, storied history in electronic music.  It’s the home of Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson, the godfathers of what became the Detroit techno sound.  And as bad as what you see on the news is, Detroit isn’t quite a desolate wasteland yet.  So it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see that Detroit is home to clubs like Bleu: extravagant, trendy, Vegas-style clubs with a focus on the best electronic music and style to spare.  Coming down the entrance stairs into the main bar area, Bleu’s vaulted ceilings house a sizable dance floor flanked by table service sections and overlooked by a pretty sumptuous VIP area with its own full service bar.  Well-decorated with lots of white fabrics and plush couches, Bleu does sexy well.

The front portion of the upstairs VIP area also functions as a DJ booth for those nights when EDM’s biggest names (Victor Calderone, Miguel Alvarado, Paul Van Dyke and Satoshi Tomiie among a host of others) drop by to drop the bass, otherwise you’ll find the records being spun up close and personal on the dance floor.  Either way the sound will be as crisp and sharp as it could be thanks to a topline EAW Avalon sound system, and the visuals will be as good as anything you’ll find in Miami with a healthy mix of visual projection screens and a state of the art Platinum Elation LED lighting rig.

Bleu is a long time partner with Detroit’s Movement EDM festival, hosting some legendary pre- and post- festival parties. Regardless of the genre, you can expect the tunes to be world class.

Bleu has worked to build it’s reputation on service, even getting compliments for their friendly bouncers.  Not necessarily dress to impress, but definitely don’t dress down, trendy and stylish are the rule rather than the exception.
