Bongo Club

During the day the Bongo Club is a meeting place and rehearsal venue for local artists and theatre groups. But since 1996, the night times have all been about live music and club nights. It’s a cult venue that offers surprisingly good sound and lightening, as well as a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The likes of DJ Yoda and Roni Size have performed here, and the DJs playing often span the electronic genre.

Different promoters bring different underground beats. Big n Bashy are about bass lines and pounding tunes, while Subsistence brings techno, and I Love Hip Hop delivers the tunes that could be expected of the name. It’s a place for creative types and there’s always something unique about the decor. Don’t expect a crowd of messy heads reveling until 6am, but for a laid back appreciative crowd this is one of Scotland’s finest.
