Brixton Jamm

At the heart of Brixton’s music scene this live music venue has two sides. Sometimes it’s all night parties playing break beat, D&B, and hip hop. Other times it’s a live music venue that has hosted acts like Massive Attack and The Specials. Dark and simple, the venue is for an unpretentious crowd who don’t want to get overly dressed up for their hours on the dance floor. It’s not the most stylish of venues but the focus at Brixton Jamm has always been exclusively on the music.

Two nights rotate and the venue is open Fridays and Saturdays. Jamm Live is the live music night with bands. Jamm Club hosts DJs playing a dark mix of music that’s heavy on bass. Expect names like Meat Katie, Plump DJs, and DJ Format, and crowds that ignore the pleasantries and focus on dancing under dim lighting. Occasionally you may find a progressive house night but the club is far more popular and famous for its break beat and D&B.
