In a darkened cave, the Caberet Voltaire is one of Scotland’s most inspiring venues. Full of nooks and crannies to explore and like-minded people to meet, it’s a club that offers the dark underground with a friendly smile. Home to some of some of Scotland’s finest DJs, it’s beats are invariably different and way off the commercial radar.

Different nights bring their own inimitable style and the music ranges from house to techno to breaks, and sometimes hits a little heavier on the bass. It’s all intended to get people off out of the hidden seating areas and onto the dance floor, and it usually succeeds. While Cabaret Voltaire doesn’t bring in the same big names as elsewhere, it’s the club’s unique shape and decor that make it stand out. Even if you’ve been here a hundred times you’ll have a different night from the last.
