The CAPITOL is housed in a high-rise built in the 20s and a landmark in Hanover’s trendy district “Linden”. Opened in 1986, the former movie theatre has been a favourite event location for live music, cinema screenings and a club.

German mainstream artists like Westernhagen, Xavier Naidoo as well as Die Ärzte, covering a music spectrum of Pop to Punk, pass the mic to international celebrities such as Joan Baez, The Kinks, Gary Moore and Robbie Williams.

On a smaller scale, Capitol also hosted more independent artists in the past such as Gentleman, Sportfreunde Stiller and City & Colour as well as parties and club nights, covering a large spectrum of music styles.

Despite its size holding anything from 400 – 1800 guests, it still has a unique charm and intimate atmosphere, so check their program next time you’re around.
