About Empty Bottle

Offering live music 7 nights a week, the Empty Bottle first landed in the Ukrainian Village section of Chicago in 1992 and was an instant success. So much so that in 1993 it moved two blocks up the street into a bigger, sound-equipped location.

This is the same location at which Empty Bottle resides today, attributing its longevity to low prices, a lack of attitude and loyal regulars.

Empty Bottle is open during the following hours:

Mon-Wed 5 pm – 2 am
Thu-Fri 3 pm – 2 am
Sat 12 pm – 3 am
Sun 12 pm – 2 am

What to Expect:

The overall consensus is that Empty Bottle is a fantastic spot to appreciate live music. They get great bands/performers, tickets are nearly always fairly priced, staff is friendly, and feeling is low key and relaxed. The beer selection is adequate and fairly priced as well, without long delays.

Although the noise level is very loud, Empty Bottle actually sells earplugs onsite. This is a pleasant touch which illustrates that the owners really care about their guests.

Nevertheless, before heading to Empty Bottle, make sure that you hit the ATM as this is a cash-only establishment. Should you forget to bring cash, there is an ATM on-site, so you will be able to take advantage of the low drink prices.

Not surprisingly, past guests regard Empty Bottle as very inexpensive, with a Divey, Hipster, and Casual ambiance. Earplugs or no earplugs, this place is great for dancing and its most happening nights tend to be Monday, Friday and Saturday nights.
