About Fitzcarraldo

Fitzcarraldo was established in the ‘90s as an expo space and takes its name from Werner Harzog’s 1982 movie of the same name. In this story Brian Sweene Fitzgerald (whose name is pronounced “Fitzcarraldo” by the natives) wants to build the biggest opera theatre ever existed in the middle of the Amazon forest: a challenge against the laws of nature and all odds, inspired by the love for music. This is the essence that the club Fitzcarraldo wants to be recognized for, proposing a sophisticated location that synthetize ethnic and modern style, and that serves as an expo space and a discotheque. The venue offers a wide area with seats, a wooden balcony and a big circular floor to dance on. On 2011 the club was re-launched as an avant-guard location thanks to a Tenax Reflex and Metempsicosi’s project that presented seven Fridays of great music with international guest DeeJays and artists.
