Located at the top of the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego’s Gaslamp District, Float was voted as having the city’s best rooftop bar.

Float offers a chill yet trendy atmosphere, and kind staff to match. At the center of the venue is a pool, with private cabanas that offer flat screen TVs and plenty of seating. VIP service and cabana rentals are available. During the summer, they host an all day pool party on Sundays, and on Saturdays, DJ Schoeny hits the decks from noon to 6pm.

Past guests state that while the atmosphere is beautiful and the fire pits are a nice touch, the food and drinks leave much to be desired. A standard drink tends to cost around $14 a piece. If you’re interested in hosting an event, Float could be just the place you’re looking for. Food stations are also available if you need them.

While Float does allow smoking, they have no coat check and offer no happy hour. Dress code is trendy, so come dressed in your best.

Float is open Monday through Sunday from 11am – 2pm, but considering it’s a rooftop bar, call beforehand in the case of inclement weather to see if they’re open.
