Fri-Son

Fri-Son originated in an old hospital of the “bourgeoisie” in 1983 with no funds at hand.  With the help of a lot of personal engagement and a sense of improvisation, the club has become the hotspot for alternative music, regularly hosting local and international bands, DJs, cinema nights and artistic events.

Managed by a strongly autonomic-oriented nonprofit organization called “Fri-Son,” the mission is to offer a platform for new talent of tomorrow as well as established figures of the local and international music scene.  It strives to successfully combine all forms of art in a constantly progressing environment.

Three decades of cultivating alternative and artistic ground, organizing high quality concerts in a great ambiance, and supporting art in all its forms have given the venue a great heap of credibility beyond national borders.
Allowing more than 110 Swiss and international bands to perform on two stages each year, including indie darlings such as Girls in Hawaii, Clinic, and Deerhunter, you can witness anything from punk rock to dark wave, funk, experimental, techno, and even vintage rock ‘n’ roll.

This venue is a multicultural, multilingual and very open-hearted space for the cultural freethinkers amongst us.  If you get the chance, visit the “Rock ‘n’ Wall” event; live painting, music, and fun!
