About G Lounge

G Lounge was the first bar to cater to the gay scene in New York back in the late 90’s. The lounge is a rather dimly lit cave that has a cool glass-and-brick entrance, which is a perfect match in the Ian Schrager hotel.

G Lounge started the fight against Russian anti gay laws by pulling Stoli vodka off its shelves to join hands with the LGBT community all over the world including the former Soviet Union.

There is no sign at the entrance; just a fancy “g” embossed on a windowed area. With the comfortable oak and steel area, there is a lot of room to sit, chat, or simply stare. However, the floor is a little short on space. The bar has an open atmosphere – thanks to the wide window facing the 19th street.

Cocktails are a little pricey here, and if you’re a non drinker, you’ll find a lot of options at their juice bar. They even have a bank machine on their premises.

Dress code is not very strict, but plain white/black t-shirts or working boots are not recommended. Happy hour weekends run from 4-9 pm.
