Herman’s Hideaway

No matter what the name says, you can always find Herman’s Hideaway by the sound. This venue has been around for nearly thirty years and claims to have hosted 25,000 bands since then. Currently, Herman’s Hideaway makes it a point to have at least three bands take the stage a night between Wednesday and Saturday. Bands like Monsters and Opie Gone Bad and Big Head Todd started out playing this venue before making it big.

Herman’s Hideaway is almost completely a rock and roll bar. Some of the more notable bands who have played there are 311, Dave Mathews Band, Phish and Doug Kershaw. Wednesdays is almost always reserved for local acts just starting out and looking for a place to play. So if you are in to independent music, especially the kind local to Denver, that is your night and this is your venue.

Despite the love for independent acts, Herman’s Hideaway has always done a good job of bringing in national favorites and providing them with a sound system that can match their talents.
