Holocene

Established in 2003, Holocene has been hosting a variety of events from dance parties to screenings.

While Holocene is a nightclub, they’re also an arts and events space. The 5,000 square feet warehouse was once the site of Best Auto Parts, and since they’ve hosted some of the best events in the area, and can accommodate over 300 people.

Holocene is comprised of two big rooms, both of which have a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, and 25 foot ceilings. A wall that divides both rooms can be pulled back to create one large space.

The only happy hour you’ll find at Holocene is on Fridays from 5pm – 8pm. Resident DJ Gossip Cat also takes over on Friday nights. The crowd is usually 21+ on all days, but they do occasionally host all ages parties and events. Cover is low and runs the gamut of free to $12 depending on the show, so make sure to check before you go.

If you’re hungry, Holocene has a small menu of food ranging from popcorn and an aged cheddar sandwich to a flourless bitter-chocolate cookie and a radicchio salad. They have a relatively good selection of beer, wine, and liquor when you need to forget the stress of the day.

Holocene is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 8:30pm until late, Friday they’re open 5pm until late, and Sunday through Tuesday they’re open in the case of events and parties. For more info on the happenings at the venue, check out their Facebook or Twitter pages.
