First opening its doors back in 2010 in the Town of Hamtramck, The Mars Bar’s quirky sense and urban appeal offer an encounter that is a little different in relation to the other bars in Hamtramck.

Adorned in reds, with candles in the tables and with a big flat screen television playing classic black and white and vintage movies, many patrons note the bar has a New York City sense to it.

However, the bar is 21+ only and there a dress code. For this reason baggy pants and sports attire will not get you in the door. Contrary to other bars in the area where you simply walk in, the Mars Bar has a greeter keeping an eye fixed on how you are dressed before you even walk into their doors.

What to Expect:

On Monday nights The Mars Bar comes alive with House beats from Detroit’s own House Gallery DJs. While there is unquestionably a dance friendly vibe present, the music is so good that you could just show up and chill to the vibe.

On Wednesdays nights it is brew and view time. There are special offers on local brews (usually 1/2 off) and you will be able to sit around and check out the classic film of the evening.
