Mercati Generali

Mercati Generali has been residing on the Catania nightlife scene  for about fifteen years and it’s one of the most frequented club of the city. Since it was founded it has tried to promote outstanding events and artists. It is set in a 9th century building and has three rooms and an outside garden that functions as the open air stage for the summer (from May to October) programming.

Mercati Generali is focused on a sophisticated target group and proposes events, special guests and DeeJays of various genres. Among the most famous guests: Murray Lachlan Young, Marc Ribot and los Cubanos Postizos, To Rococo Rot, Manu Chao and Roy Paci, SpearHead, Ursula Rucker, Frederic Galliano and African Divas, Enon, Mike Patton and Rahzel , Marcos Valle, Uri Caine, Cat Power, Bill Evans, David Grubbs, Jamie Lidell, Antony and the Johnsons, Cocorosie, Uzeda, Studio Davoli, Famiglia Sfuggita and Ultrapop, Sara Fazzino and Moto Mimetico, Masaki Iwana and Valeria Geremia, Hidetochi Nagasawa, etc.

At the bar you can find any kind of cocktails and long drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), but also a more refined choice of wines (the building used to be a wine production factory). On the website you can find the updated calendar with all the events.
