Neumos

While you’re more likely to find a live band or the occasional rapper, than you are likely to find DJs, Neumo’s lives up the nightclub sobriquet. Located on Seattle’s Capital Hill (where Hipsters are the dominant social species) Neumo’s plays host to the kinds of bands that record store clerks will tell you are too cool for you to have heard of yet.  Or would if there were still any record stores.

But don’t let the skinny jeans and glasses without lenses scare you off, the crowds are welcoming and the drinks do exactly what they’re supposed to do.  It’s the kind of quirky dive you loved when you were 21 and broke, and its still a fun way to spend the evening.

With multiple bars, and decent sized main floor solid musical taste, Neumo’s is one of the better places to catch a live show in Seattle, and subsequently it can be crowded.  Be prepared to make new friends. Luckily for anyone who finds themselves needing a change of pace midway through the night, Neumo’s features an entirely different venue in their Basement called Barboza.  Barboza was designed, and feels like an entirely different bar, and tends to feature as many DJs as live acts.
