About Park West

Among Chicago’s best equipped multi-media facilities, this historical theater has truly been an essential part of the performance scene ever since it first opened up in the 1920’s. Years after, the building became the City Theater, an area movie-house, until May 11, 1977 when it evolved into Park West.

Since that time, Park West has become a top concert location for nationally-recognized entertainers as well as a favored meeting spot for well-known businesses. This facility is equipped with 5 tiered levels, large balconies, 7 bars, and comfortable booth seating.
Some of the most recognized names in the entertainment business have performed at Park West, from Aretha Franklin, U2, The B-52’s, Blondie, Joe Jackson, Van Morrison and so many more.

What to Expect:

There is a general consensus among past guests that this is a perfect setting for a concert due to its intimate setting. Park West is somewhat unique from other venues in Chicago as it holds a mixture of comfy tables, booths and traditional seats or stools.
The acoustics at Park West clear as well, as the instruments do not overpower the singers’ voices. Previous visitors have indicated that there are quite a few bars through Park West, as well as hosts walking the through frequently taking drink orders. However, drinks tend to be on the pricier side of things, which was actually expected by most past guests as they deem this a classy venue.

One thing that you should be aware of is that Park West has open seating. Therefore, if you want the best seat in the house, you had better get there early.
