About Peabody Opera House

Peabody Opera House has a long history as a St. Louis landmark. After first opening under a different name in 1934, incredible acts have taken the stage here, including the Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Dylan. A recent $78 million restoration has rendered this incredible, unique venue better than ever.

Once upon a time the Peabody Opera House went by the name of Kiel Opera House, but it’s now proud of its new name and seamlessly blends the charm of its past with the exceptional technology of today. With over 3,000 seats, top performers like Wilco, Jay Leno, and Aretha Franklin can take the stage with thousands of their favorite fans.

There are a wide variety of events hosted here: concerts, comedy acts, family shows, incredible holiday productions, theater performances and more. There are also numerous private spaces to rent, which are perfect for weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, fundraisers, and DJ jam sessions. Their in-house event planner can help private parties find the perfect way to utilize the historic charm and incredible spaces available at the Peabody Opera House.
