Pub Rock

Pub Rock has been newly remodeled, though those who’ve loved this place for years can rest assured that it’s kept its hipster charm. This is a no-frills venue that is light on décor and heavy on sound. The capacity is just 350, yet they draw major acts like Everlast and Every Time I Die. Big bands come through once a twice a month, but on off days they invite local, up and coming bands to take the stage, and they often have special events for Big 10 Football and NFL games.

Pub Rock is an all-ages venue, and in order to comply with local liquor laws, management has those 21+ in a different area than the younger crowd. This has caused some complaints from 21+ patrons who get roped off near the back of the club, while the younger set gets the front of the crowd spots. As a result, if you’re looking for the best spot in the house, stick to the under 21 area and get your drinks before or after the show.
