About Q Bar

Widely regarded as Bangkok’s premiere nightlife institution, Q Bar has for over a decade, set new standards for bars and nightclubs in Thailand. Located on Sukhumvit Road, Soi 11, since December of 1999, Q Bar hosts the largest selection of spirits and cocktails in the city, and is also the Bangkok showcase for many of the world’s top international touring DJ’s. Resident DJ’s spin the latest grooves from around the world, from House to Hip-Hop to Electro to Rock. Nightlife in Bangkok hasn’t been the same since. For over 12 legendary years, Q Bar has established itself as a true ‘institution’ in Bangkok, an iconic bar that brought something fresh to a city that thought it had seen everything. Q Bar is still the watchword for international visitors and Bangkokians alike and the benchmark to which many others have – and still do – aspire. The Upstairs Lounge (also known as Q UP) is the brainchild of designer Bruno Tanquerel, responsible for Europe’s renowned Buddha Bars, and owners David Jacobson and Andrew Clark, Q Bar’s new upstairs space is best described as a multi-cultural, maximalist setting with an elegant mixture of colourful textures and gothic touches. Q UP also features one of Bangkok’s only open air smoking lounges. Since enforcing a no smoking policy in all bars and clubs in Bangkok Q Bar is one of the very few to enable smokers their right to relax and sit outside in our open air terrace, rather than run outside to the parking lot for a smoke. We also offer Sheesha pipes in various flavours and some of the finest Imported Cigars. Q Bar is not simply ‘world famous in Bangkok’. It has been featured on hundreds of television networks worldwide, in newspapers and magazines from Dubai to Washington, Tokyo to Malta, Moscow to New York. Notable publications such as Elle, Vogue, Time, Esquire, Newsweek, and many more have sung the praises of Q Bar in their pages. Now known the world over, Q Bar has become the destination for those traveling to the Land of Smiles. With everyone from dusty backpackers to A-List celebs such as Mick Jagger, Matt Dillon, Oliver Stone, Collin Farrell, and Owen Wilson having spent evenings rubbing shoulders with Bangkok’s elite, people from all walks of life have danced and drank the night away on Q Bar’s dancefloor.
