About Rumor BostonHead to Rumor any night except Monday to dance the night away. A rotating team of DJs spin everything from Top 40 to House to Dance. Wednesdays are Gay Night, during which House enthusiasts are pleased with the focus on their favorite genre of jams.
Sundays typically bring reggae nights, which are laid back but offer many opportunities to occupy the dance floor. A projection screen behind the DJ loop an array of vintage videos that transport dancers back to a time before taste. Thursdays belong to EDM fans, and Fridays and Saturdays are great for Euro-scensters in love with International and Top 40.
Drinks can be extra pricey, with beers starting at $8 and cocktails at least $10, but patrons don’t mind as long as the music keeps pumping. The cover is $20 – $25, and you can get a reduced rate by RSVP on their website.
Fans of Cure, Venu, or District Lounge will be right at home at Rumor, since it’s run by the same folks who run those clubs. There are 2 dance floors, each with blocky pillars, paper lanterns, and shiny banquettes that perfectly combine Victorian chic with a minimalist vibe.
