Located next to “Dollhouse”, “Smashboxx” is Scottsdale’s premier hot spot located in the heart of Old Town, offering the perfect ambiance to go all out and as over-the-top as you wish. Being a lounge and restaurant by day and a club at night, the venue caters perfectly for many trendy partygoers, who like to come earlier for dinner and a drink in a relaxed atmosphere to then staying late for the party: and more drinks.

Living up to its name by literally being a “box”, “Smashboxx” impresses less with its size but more with being nationally recognized for it’s high-energy atmosphere, attracting world renowned DJs such as Fedde Le Grand, Hardwell, Scooter & Lavelle, Sander van Doorn, DJ Vice, Sid Vicious, George Acosta, Davind DAnn, R3HAB, Chuckie and numerous S.K.A.M Artist DJs. The “hot & sweaty mess” as clubgoers like to fondly refer to the club to, never fails to stay jam-packed on the weekends, which makes the long lines worth enduring. It’s the perfect place for an amazing night filled with dancing on the sunken dancefloor (or literally everywhere else due to the size of the club) to pulsating Electro-House sound, whilst being bathed in a colourful sea of LED lights.

If you need a break from proving your dancing abilities, you can fall into one of the couches on the other side of the floor and chill out with a cool drink. Only downsides worth mentioning: bar staff don’t seem to tick “friendliness and good service boxes” too often, and the one bar of the club, lining the entire west wall, tends to get extremely overcrowded despite offering slightly overpriced drinks. So bulk up if you manage to get an order through.

Despite the human congestion of the place, the crowd is surprisingly relaxed and you can meet anybody from youngsters in their 20s looking to have fun and dance, some 30 to 40s reminiscing their youth, and a few “elders” looking to find that special trophy wife (no joke!).
