Start The Bus

Start the Bus is a funky and uber-cool bar in Bristol that is home to electronic and indie music. Start the bus has a spacious seating and chill-out area and is frequented by a trendy crowd of hipsters. Don’t let that last bit of information put you off, as Start The Bus manages to create a very friendly atmosphere. The dance floor is small, but usually busy, and on weekends there is always an underground act getting people moving.

DJs like Switch have played here, and their music policy is one that likes to blur the distinction between electronic and indie. Probably the most popular night is their 90’s house party on the first Friday of the month, playing all the hands-in-the-air classics that will never die. Make sure to get dressed up and look the part, and be prepared for plenty of head-bobbing with new friends on the big comfy sofas.
