About State Theater

Located in Downtown Portland, the State Theater aims to bring some of the best acts to the area while  showing their guests a good time.

Although State Theater is primarily a music venue, they also host numerous other events including comedy shows and even burlesque performances. Tickets are inexpensive, and often cost $30 or less.

Past guests compliment the look of the theater, and explain that while it is a large venue, it still has a comfortable and friendly feel to it. One of the biggest complaints is that the venue is not air conditioned, so make sure to dress appropriate, especially during the summer. It can get a bit hot and stuffy with so many people put in one space.

The shows at State Theater are all ages, but if you plan on drinking, showing ID is required. Tickets for the shows can be purchased online.

State Theater offers more than enough beverages to choose from including soda, water, beer, wine, and the hard stuff. If you’re looking for something to nosh on, they serve popcorn from Little Lads, pizza from the Portland Pie Company, and various other eats.

They do offer a coat check, smoking is not allowed inside the venue, and they have a strict no re-entry rule and will enforce it. The State Theater doesn’t have a parking lot, so you’re either going to have to park on the street or at a local parking garage; be prepared to walk.

Whether you want to host a birthday party, corporate event, charity function, or another type of event, the State Theater is available to rent and could be just the venue you’re looking for.
