About Tabasco

Founded in 1974, Tabasco was the first gay discothèque in Italy. Therefore the location of the club is very private, although in the middle of the city center ( a small square in Florence). The venue is set in the old crypt of Santa Cecilia where Dante Alighieri used to meet with his beloved Beatrice, a very romantic place in one of the most romantic cities in the world. The structure is an original building from 1500 with tiles, arches, statues and even a well of that period. This location was also chosen because Santa Cecilia,  who gives the name to the site, was considered the protector of music. The classical setting does not compromise the entertainment in any way. Tabasco is a very lively nightclub with good music, events and a lot of people that hang out here. The main room, dedicated to dancing, is a big space with frescos on the ceiling where international guest deejays play dance, commercial and house music. The club also has a more private room and a bar that serves all kind of drinks. All in all, Tabasco is a nice nightclub in the lgbt scene and a cozy place to meet new people.
