The Thaxton Building is a destination in itself, with its authentic, vintage Art Deco style and incredible detail work. Take a trip down to the basement and you’re in for a real treat: The Thaxton Speakeasy. Though it’s located in the middle of bustling downtown St. Louis, you’ll feel like you’ve gotten away from it all when you step through their clandestine alley entryway.

There is a cover charge every night, but all you have to do is visit the website for a special code word. Just whisper it to the doorman and you’ll get in for a reduced fee. The favorite drink of regular patrons is the Cherry Moonshine, which fits in perfectly with the throwback vibe.

You’ll find themes here most nights, including Prohibition Thursdays with live music performed by Miss Jubilee, and DJ Mark Lewis spinning the hits of today and yesterday on Friday nights.
