Few places in Texas are as tied into the Hip Hop community as The Avenue on Congress. While it may be fair to say that most area DJ’s probably spin a healthy selection of hip hop tunes into their mixes, you’ll definitely find the city’s best hip hop Dj’s cutting it up at The Avenue on Congress more often than anywhere else. With an upstairs stage that provides the necessary and almost prerequisite rooftop party experience, The Avenue offers a great view of the city skyline at night. Coupled with a full service bar that doesn’t offer much in the way of surprises other than an attentive and competent staff, and you have a recipe that delivers consistent results. It’s also to The Avenue’s credit that they have 3 full service bars, one of them on the roof, and they have full bottle service. While the spot is fairly new, these little touches will do a lot to set them apart from other venues in the area, and ensures that it’s always easy to grab a drink even on crowded nights.

It’s also a local favorite for hosted parties, and afterparties, playing host to special SXSW events, and shows, and other local flair and flavor. Maybe the only drawback to the club is the fact that it’s only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the real dance addicts and hip hop heads. But it’s fairly safe to say that the owners of The Avenue know their demographic, and have an idea of when people will and won’t come out, and have adjusted their service hours accordingly. So if you’re in the mood for some dope beats and high gloss action in Austin, The Avenue on Congress is the go to, for you.
