The Weekend Rundown

Thursday, September 11

Chuckie @ Studio Paris

Coming all the way from Amsterdam, Dirty Dutch DJ Chuckie is coming to Chicago’s sexy Studio Paris tonight. He’s mastered the art of creating some down and dirty beats while still keeping an upbeat tempo and making everyone want to move their feet. He’s got some dirty funk up his sleeve and he’s ready to groove.

Friday, September 12

Derrick Carter @ The Mid

Derrick Carter has made quite the name for himself in the past few years. It seems like he’s headlining an event somewhere every weekend, and for good reason. He’s mastered various genres and continues to stretch the boundaries of dance music. He incorporates multiple samples in his style and his transitions are as smooth as butter. Check him out at The Mid Friday night.

Blood Diamonds @ Castle

Blood Diamonds doesn’t just get his name from the terrible diamond market, his last name is Diamond. Michael Diamond puts a unique spin on what we thought drum ‘n’ bass could be. He goes beyond the usual bass and snare and makes things a little darker. His remixes stay true to originals while making it his own. He is a Diamond in the rough so check him out at Castle.

M.A.N.D.Y. @ Spybar

Coming all the way from Berlin, M.A.N.D.Y. has created a worldwide name for themselves. Not just a sexy lady’s name, this duo has mastered anything minimal. Whether it be techno or house, these guys know what they’re doing. Being on the same label as Booka Shade, this clever duo has had some huge hits, taking the world by storm in 2005. Need some smooth groove in your life? Check out M.A.N.D.Y.

Saturday, September 13

Sander Kleinenberg @ Aragon Ballroom

It seems as though Chicago is getting an Dutch takeover this weekend. Another DJ hailing from Amsterdam will be filling the Aragon Ballroom with his infectious beats. You can’t help but dance to Sander Kleinenberg. His house beats and overall awesomeness should have the Aragon so hot, the walls may start sweating. Don’t miss this talented Dutch DJ this weekend.

GB² (Garrett Belschner B2B Garrett Birch) & Kalendr @ Spybar

There are few things more entertaining than back-to-back non-stop music. Spybar gives is what we want with a back-to-back Garrett takeover. Garrett Belschner and Garrett Birch will be going head to head to show us what they’re made of. These guys combined with Chicago superstar Kalendr, the night should be one to remember.

Sunday, September 14

Wu Tang Clan @ Sound Bar

Yes, you read this correctly. Members of the iconic rap group Wu Tang Clan will be in Chicago on Sunday to bring Sunday Funday to a entirely new level. While all of the members are not able to attend, the Clan still knows how to bring the house down. They’re jump around style is never lost, and their music will always live on.

Dustin Sheridan @ Primary

Within the past few years, Dustin Sheridan has made quite the name for himself in Chicago. He’s quickly becoming a household name in the city and beyond. His smooth house grooves are the perfect way to wind down after a busy weekend, while still being able to have a dance-filled good time. He’ll be closing out your Sunday Funday at Primary this weekend, so don’t miss out.
