Global Dance Festival ft. Zedd, Wolfgang Gartner, Adventure Club, Destroid, Waka Flocka Flame and more @ Red Rocks Amphitheater July 18 to 20

Between a stellar lineup of world-class DJs, the best lighting and production in the state, and the only naturally-formed, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world, Global Dance Festival (GDF) is the event that annually raises the bar on live EDM music events in Colorado. Whether it’s the long list of local favorites or the big names at the top of the flyer (the most anticipated of which we previously wrote about), GDF has something for everyone.

NRG Thursdays ft. Overwerk, Sergio Santana and Jleet @ Beta Nightclub

If three nights of dancing to chart-topping DJs isn’t enough for you, catch Canadian electro house dynamo Overwerk’s set at Beta Nightclub the night before – admission is free with proof of Global Dance Festival ticket purchase. With opening sets by hometown regulars Sergio Santana and Jleet, the night should make for a perfect way to kick off GDF weekend.

Human Agency, Skydyed, RUMTUM amd JJ Evanoff @ The Bluebird Theater

Having shared the stage with acts like RJD2, Shpongle, Bonobo, Emancipator and DJ Shadow, Denver-based Human Agency’s trip-hop sound is refined enough for them to headline the historic Bluebird Theater. Support from opening acts Skydyed, RUMTUM and JJ Evanoff ensures that the hippie-raver hybrid crowd indigenous to much of the Mile High City ought to be present.

Friday, July 18

Bassic Fridays ft. Distance, Subliminal and Caustik @ Beta Nightclub

Drawing from influences as heavy as Sepultura, Pantera and Fear Factory, UK-based Distance has thrown down aggressive dubstep sets at such notorious raves as FDW, DMZ, Exodus and Sub: DUB. In addition, he’s made serious waves as the owner of Chestplate Records. Subliminal and Caustik will open up the main floor, and the DJs of P.U.N.C.H.I.S.

Global Fridays ft. Dj. Trajikk and Ecotek @ The Church

Even while preoccupied with their flagship event, Triad Dragons continues to host their weekly event, Global Fridays, at The Church. The Denver-famous DJ Trajikk will play a set of his hyphy brand of trance as per his residency, and Greek-by-birth Ecotek will do the same.

Saturday, July 19

Proper Saturdays ft. Josh Wink, Ty Tek and Mahesh Presents @ Beta Nightclub

Josh Wink’s tenure in the rave scene is nothing to laugh at. Having been involved in early techno around the time the scene was born, he’s worked with such major players as Carl Cox and has toured the world over time and time again. Combined with an opening set by Ty Tek and a night in the Beatport Lounge with Mahesh Presents, This week’s edition of Proper Saturdays promises not to disappoint.

Moon Boots, Need & Necessity and Keepers @ Club Vinyl

Between these three acts, Club Vinyl will be grooving from top to bottom with deep house vibes. Tracks from Moon Boots like “Whatever You Need” reflect the growing popularity of the once-boutique EDM sub genre, and sets by locals Need & Necessity and Keepers will indeed set the tone for such an occasion.

Sunday, July 20

Climax Sundays ft. DJ Tatiana @ Club Vinyl

DJ Tatiana, an official Billboard music DJ and chart panelist, takes a break from touring the world to pay a visit to her hometown of Denver, Colorado to play an eclectic set for this LGBT-themed rooftop party.  Also features performances by the CLiMAX Dance Crew.
