DJOYbeat Event Spotlight
Porter Robinson @ The Fillmore Theater
Even though he’s only 21, the EDM community marvels at the seemingly overnight success of Porter Robinson. After being discovered by Skrillex and releasing the Spitfire EP, the trajectory of his growth as a musician aligned conveniently with popular music trends – and his new album, Worlds, is no different. Timed perfectly with the current shift towards deep/future/tropical house, the album (and tour of its namesake) spans across several BPMs with lush, cerebral progressions and ethereal sound design.

JackLNDN, Sam Warren and John Arnold @ Bar Standard

Sam Warren and John Arnold will play supporting sets.
STS9 @ Red Rocks Amphitheater
Even if you think that they sound like elevator music or were put off by them missing a Colorado gig due to a temporary breakup earlier in the year, you can’t deny that Sound Tribe Sector 9 has made its mark on the greater Denver metro area. Considering their memorable warehouse parties in the outskirts of Boulder, this monumental two-day affair will surely draw a varied crowd to Red Rocks Amphitheater.
