Colours of Ostrava Festival at Ostrava, Czech Republic

This year’s festival will be held for the third time in the impressive surroundings of the Dolní Vítkovice industrial grounds. Those who attended previous years will notice several additional changes and enhancements to the site in 2014. A number of discussions and programmes will now take place inside the Big World of Technology building which Colours of Ostrava visitors will be able to take a peek at before the official opening in September 2014. Art and light installations will once again light up the grounds, while there will also be a WTF (What the Fashion) Market and Art Zone, where aside from stands selling designer goods, visitors will be able to stand back and admire local and foreign street artists designing their pieces before their eyes. Once again festival-goers will be able to access and enjoy popular areas including the Drive stage, Full Moon stage, Busking stage, large screen projections beside the Gong auditorium as well as chill out in the festival wine bar converted from a concrete bunker.

The line-up will include over 200 programme features spanning across at least twelve open-air and covered stages. Aside from concerts, a range of other forms of entertainment will feature including theatre, workshops, films, discussions, performances and creative projects. Parents bringing children along will also be catered for at a special Kids Stage and breastfeeding stand.
