DJOYbeat Event Spotlight

popof

LINK and Miami Rebels present Popof @ Trade (Thursday, August 15)

If the last time you saw him was at Treehouse, you will be extremely delighted to discover that French DJ and producer Popof will be making his way back to the Magic City to debut at LINK and Miami Rebels’ new home. The Cocoon heavyweight and Heretik System founder will be shaking things up in the intimate venue with his trademark blend of minimal techno and electro. LINK and Miami Rebels advise all guests to please use the back alley entrance from Espanola Way on Collins Ct.

Don Diablo @ LIV

“Always be yourself… unless you can be Batman.” We don’t question his quotes – or his music, for that matter. Back to bring some serious beats to LIV this Thursday is Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Don Diablo.

#STORYthursday presents DJ Clue and Stevie J @ Story

Desert Storm Records’ DJ Clue returns to Miami from his home town of Queens, New York to take over Story this Thursday along with fellow New Yorker, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta‘s producer Stevie J. Do it up VIP style and snag a table if you want to avoid long lines and a chaotic dance floor. As far as music is concerned, this is not your typical electro house night – expect an eclectic mix of house, hip hop, top 40 and pop.

Cultivate presents Nick Curly @ Treehouse

This week, Cultivate brings us Cocoon’s Nick Curly for another installment of their legendary weekly at Treehouse. The Space Ibiza resident and Cecille Records label boss will be laying down that deep tech house fusion that has set him apart from other producers since the very beginning of his artist career.

Link and Miami Rebels present Anja Schneider and Alexi Delano @ Trade

The team behind LINK and Miami Rebels are no strangers to working with the best in techno. This Friday, they are inviting the German-based Mobilee label boss and techno queen Anja Schneider to Trade for an extended set. International LINK and Miami Rebels resident Alexi Delano has also been added to the roster. We are expecting things to get very dark in the best possible way.

Cedric Gervais @ Story

Here’s an artist that needs very little introduction, but we’ll throw in a little one anyway – the Grammy Winner, Aria Chart-Topper and Platinum-selling heavyweight will be touching down at Story this Friday to serve up a healthy dose of what he affectionately calls “sexy, f*@kable house music.” We recommend that you arrive early, as this show is predicted to bring a full house.

DJ Politik @ LIV

If you are craving a less EDM-oriented evening, you can kick-off your weekend at LIV, where Los Angeles-based producer and open format superstar DJ Politik will be crafting up the perfect balance of hip-hop, alternative, rock, pop, house and classic records. We suggest doing this party VIP-style, as the dancefloor has been known to get hectic on Fridays.

Un_Mute presents Speaker Box Showcase with Heartthrob and Renato Lopez @ Treehouse

Once again, Un_Mute and the folks at Speaker Box have put together a stellar list of underground talent for this Friday’s show at Treehouse. Heading up the roster this week is Berlin-based underground king Heartthrob and Miami’s own resident techno maestro Renato Lopez. Expect an evening of proper techno and house with none of that velvet rope nonsense you might find elsewhere on South Beach.

Committee Entertainment presents Lift Off Fridays with Marco V @ Space

To all of those club kids who are not quite yet 21, you can rejoice – Committee Entertainment returns with another great talent for their Lift Off Friday series. Headlining this Friday is Dutch tech-trance pioneer Marco V supported by Paul E and Jose Estrada, and yes, the event is 18 and older for both genders. Admission is free for ladies and reduced for gentleman before 12:30.

Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano @ LIV

Miami is very excited to welcome back these two dance music titans for another high energy set at LIV this Saturday night. We suggest that you purchase your tickets in advance and arrive early if possible – if the duo’s past shows at LIV are any indication, you will be stuck waiting in a god-forsaken endless line around the Fountainbleau’s lobby if you show up any later than 12:30 p.m.

Link and MiamiRebels present #UndergroundStory with Rony Seikaly @ Story

Another week, another “underground story” to tell. This Saturday’s installment welcomes Miami Beach-based DJ and producer Rony Seikaly (aka “The Spin Doctor”) to the decks at Story. Once named one of the most-underrated DJs by Pete Tong, Seikaly has definitely risen to the forefront of the club scene for his groovy, sensual staple sound. Come hear the Sugar Radio resident at Story this Saturday for an intimate evening of music – dress code will be relaxed.

LINK and Miami Rebels present Blow Up Saturdays with Patrick M and Hugo Bianco @ Treehouse

Two true Miami legends, Space’s Patrick M and LINK and Miami Rebels’ Hugo Bianco, will revisit their roots this Saturday at Treehouse for BLOW UP Saturdays. The party (which used to take place every Wednesday), continues to serve as Miami’s premier industry hangout, so if you’re in the mood to swing with the locals who fuel the city’s nightlife and hospitality pulse, you’ve come to the right place.

22 Sessions with DJ Diaga @ Do Not Sit On The Furniture

This week, 22 Productions’ DJ Diago brings Miami a showcase of some of the city’s finest and most promising emerging underground talent, including Jorge Parodi, QBA and Stephney. As usual, dress code is optional, but good vibrations and a preparedness to get down is a must. Come as strangers and leave as friends at this no frills, all about the music event.

David Tort (Terrace Room), Chris Valencia (Main Room) and Un_Mute Showcase (Loft) @ Space

It’s no secret that in Miami, Saturdays belong to Space, as they have for over a decade now. This weekend’s lineup welcomes back Spanish Space veteran David Tort to the Terrace Room and Miami based Opium Group resident Chris Valencia to the Main Room. Meanwhile, techno lovers can get their fix up in the recently renovated Loft, where the team behind Un_Mute will be bringing us a spectacular showcase of the best in Miami’s cutting edge techno scene, including Nova Duet, Mario Liberti, Louis David and Juan Rojas.

KRN Hospitality presents Kate Elsworth @ Wall Lounge

DJ and songwriter Kate Elsworth has proven herself the perfect combination of beauty and talent. The voice behind the WMC 2012 anthem “Eyes Wide Open,” she returns to Miami this Saturday to light up the decks at the W Hotel’s intimate and ultra glam Wall Lounge. If you are looking for a cozy sweet spot to enjoy some big room style tunes, this is definitely where you will want to be this weekenend.
