Electric Zoo Festival @ Randall’s Island (August 29 to 31)

This year’s lineup looks solid once again. Though this edition will be a little different from last year, the music should make up for any changes you don’t like. If they don’t, you may wanna check them priorities! So far, no camelbacks. Stay hydrated, folks. On the music side, Zedd, Jack U and David Guetta are just a few of a stacked weekend of music. If the weather stays like it has been this summer, it’ll be one day humid as all get out, the next raining and the third will be beautiful. Let’s see all three days this year. Rave safe.

Another do-not-miss, we’re giving away ticket to the EZoo afterparties at Output, including Hot Since 92, Laidback Luke and more.

Thursday, August 28

Miss Jennifer @ Cielo

If you think New York was going to turn down with a huge festival in town, you wouldn’t know this city. Cielo has a local house act that puts down killer tech house. Miss Jennifer can put it down. She’ll probably make you a fan.

Riton @ Output

’90s dance music will be on display at Output Thursday night. The ’90s, as god awful as it can be at most times, made some pretty catchy dance music. Mixing in some house, Riton brings new and slightly old together. Who else wants to watch some Fresh Prince right about now?

DJ SS and Taxman @ Highline Ballroom

This is something EZoo could have a little more of, although it’s not all that popular anymore, DnB! British DnB was one of the earlier versions of what got us to where we are today. If you haven’t lost it at a DnB show yet, go do that one of these days.

Friday, August 29

TBA presents Adam Shelton [One Records] @ TBA Brooklyn

Tech house and house. Secret Brooklyn location. Yeah, that sounds like a match made in Bed Stuy. If you live in the NYC area and haven’t been to a secret location party in Brooklyn, you should get yourself to one. Usually the best parties in town.

Girls & Boys presents Far East Movement & Grandtheft @ Webster Hall

If your ears are looking for an extra hit after some heavy EZoo sets, head to Webster. Bass will be served in heavy doses Friday night. It could get prittay prittay dirty up in there. Add Far East Movement into the mix and you got yourself set.

MORE Fridays Presents: Savant (Live) @ Slake

Savant is funky as hell. The man who says R.I.P. to genres will put it on full display at slake. The closest thing that sort of fits Savant is… glitch meets Nintendo meets a little dub. Yeah, the guy killed labels for himself at least. Saturday, August 30

Push The Night: Hernan Cattaneo b2b Guy J [5-hour set] and Brad Miller @ Verboten

Five hours of back-to-back house awaits at Verboten. While house is never in short demand in Brooklyn, Verboten tends to bring some of the best acts. If you’re looking to get deep, and possibly into some slight tribal beats, head to Verboten.

Rinsed x Fixed: Mount Kimbie @ Secret Location

Mount Kimbie would put on a secret set. That’s a good thing. Their vibe is chill, dreamy stuff. If you want to rage, go far away from this. If you like Toro y Moi, you might be wanting to get down to some Mount Kimbie.

brite nites feat. Bro Safari‘s Blackout Tour with Valentino Khan @ Webster Hall

If you want dirty, you go to Mad Decent. If you want more Mad Decent, head to Webster. Bro Safari throws down some dirty, dirty stuff. Looks like Webster is going with a theme this weekend, no?

Sunday, August 31

Blkmarket Membership @ Le Bain

Le Bain is going to be supplying so some tech house to close out the weekend. One set opens with Phil Collins. Didn’t expect that. Do expect some solid deep and tech house all set long.

Mister Sunday with Mister Saturday Night’s Eamon Harkin & Justin Carter @ Industry City

A little funky, a little deep, a lot of house. Eamon Harkin & Justin Carter can put down some legit sets doing their Mister Saturday Night work. Check out Industry City for some consistently good house.

Sundays on The Roof with Youandewan and Lazaro Casanova @ Output

Some present house and some futro house come together at Output. Besides quality house, Lazaro Casanova owns a pretty legitimate handlebar stache, if that’s your sort of thing. If that’s your sort of thing, see you at Output.
