Basic – Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West) @ Marquee

Collaborators since ’94, the duo of Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff have been able to throw down just about anything solo. Together, progressive and deep are some of their fortes. With Marquee boasting one of the city’s best sound systems, expect to hear some serious bass from two of the best.

Thursday, August 22

The Hood Internet @ Le Poisson Rouge

Some of you get down with the mashup scene. Some of you won’t touch it. If you’re the first, the Chicago duo should be up your alley. Matter fact, if mashups are your scene, you probably already know these dudes. They’re pretty legit.

Planet Cognac: Sepalcure, Jaw Jam, Slava, Dan Wender + Blacky II @ Verboten

A little lovestep, a little house. A decent mix of creative stuff. Verboten once again trots out a pretty eclectic bill, and the city is better for it. Head to Verboten if you’re up for a little bit of a few things Thursday night.

Marco Bailey @ Cielo

The long-term DJ Marco Bailey drops into Cielo Thursday. The Belgian has been in the game for a long time. He’s considered a figurehead in the scene by many. What do you think? Up for a legend to start the weekend off?

Also Consider: Cinema Club @ Videology; Disco Federal in the Stilton House @ Output; Twin Tapes @ Bowery Electric

Friday, August 22

Girls & Boys presents The Trifecta Tour: DJ SLiiNK, Green Lantern and TWRK @ Webster Hall

Hip-hop/club drops into Webster with a trio of ass-shaking producers. Webster is one of the more likely places in New York to find ratchetness. With this bill, your chances are probably a little higher than usual.

Soul Clap All Night Long with Eddie “Flashin” Fowlkes, Scott Grooves & DJ Scribe @ Output

Producers and dance music professors at Tufts (that’s right), Soul Clap are a funky, house duo that probably wouldn’t like being limited like that. These guys are confident in what they bring to the table. Fortunately, they back it up. See for yourself at Output.

Them Jeans @ Glasslands Gallery

Them Jeans is legit. Flipping favorites, Them Jeans puts a new spin on some tracks you may have thought you spun out for a while. These aren’t the sometimes standard churned out remixes, Them Jeans puts in work. Get into Them Jean then head to Glasslands.

Subb-an, Acid Pauli, Bedouin and Scarlett Etienne @ Verboten

The multi-talented Scarlett Etienne is one lady to check out. The Brit is always at work writing, singing and especially spinning. She can drop some solid sets that can span a genre or two. Doesn’t hurt that she’s incredibly beautiful either. Just saying…

Sex Panther @ Pacha

L.A. electro house takes over Pacha this Friday. After doing young trance last Friday, Pacha comes back with a duo of young electro/progressive DJs that should be sure to provide a melted face or two. As always, that place fills up so get in and stake out your spot, bruh!

Also Consider: Razor -N Tape Label Night @ Le Bain; Mr. Scruff, Monk-One on the Roof @ Output

Saturday, August 23

Fixed presents John Talabot, JDH & Dave P with Voigtmann, Alejandro Sab and Sergio Dimoff @ Output

House and electronic multi-talent John Talabot touches down at Output Saturday. The Spaniard brings an original approach to sound that makes him stand out, and be the perfect act for Output.

Forward Disco: Danny Krivit @ Cielo

Wanna take a ride in a time machine? Got acid? No? Ok, well then you probably won’t be riding in a time machine Saturday. However, if you were looking to travel back to the peak of Disco, you can always head to Cielo and see Danny Krivit. He also does some nu-Disco. Not the same, but still good. Maybe you’ll run into The Doctor on your way out for a real trip (What up, Whovians).

Technoir: Autograf, Abakus and Alex English @ Slake

Autograf goes by future house, or future summer. Future summer fits for the season and so does their music. Remixes of classics sound modern, haunting and catchy at the same time. It’s a solid blend that can start to feel joyous to slightly dark at times. Check out Autograf if you get the chance.

Drek Martinez @ Marquee

A little deep, a little dark. A lot of dub at times. Drek Martinez brings a slightly erratic, but seemingly organized sound to Marquee. It’ll keep you on your toes to say the least. Keep up with him Saturday.

brite nites feat. ETC! ETC!, Torro Torro, slander @ Webster Hall

Remember that whole thing earlier about Sliink, Green Lantern and Webster’s ratchetness? Well, double down on that high ratchet percentage by hitting up the place with the occasional extremely elitist doorperson for some heavy bass. Get down, get dirty. Rock your kandi that Diplo wouldn’t let you wear, if that’s your sort of thing.

Also Consider: SCI-FI & Fantasy presents L’estasi Dell’oro; Lamin Fofana, Max Mcferren @ Cameo Gallery; Le Bain presents Zev Le Wolf & Cameo Culture @ Le Bain; Hardsoul @ Pianos; Safer At Night: Felix Da Housecat [residency launch] and Curses @ Verboten

Sunday, August 24

Sundays on the Roof with Jus-Ed, Jay Daniel & Monty Luke @ Output

It’s Output. It’s Sunday. It’s roof time. There’ll be tech. There’ll be some dark. There’ll be some house. If this ain’t your first Output rodeo, you probably have a solid grasp of what’s up by now. If not, check it — if it’s your sort of thing (their thing, not mine).

Jify’s and American Apparel present Disco Brunch with Paul Raffaele, Phil Moffa @ Cameo Gallery

Is it just New York, or does the entire country/world love brunch so much? I don’t get it. Sure, it’s probably fine and all but that can cut into sleep time. Yeah, sleep runs til a solid 7 p.m. on Sundays in this house! Oh yeah, if you do like brunch and house Cameo Gallery also has you covered.

Été D’amour Loves Galcher Lustwerk, Blu Jemz & More @ Le Bain

If Sunday means brunch, then it also has to mean house. New York and house go together like New York and brunch. It’s a whole big triangle of things. For some house, and some slight glitch house, check out Le Bain. Doors open at 5, so you can head over after brunch.

Also Consider: Fania Pop Up Store & Club Music by: Rich Medina & Geko Jones @ Sounds of Brazil/ S.O.B.’s; Chancellor Warhol, Jessi Mechanic @ Bowery Electric
