Phoenix/Scottsdale Weekend Preview: June 5 to 8, 2014

DJOYbeat Event Spotlight

Madeon @ Maya Day & Nightclub, Friday, June 6

Though this French DJ is a mere 20-years-old, he’s been making beats since he was 11. That’s right. He’s been doing this longer than most of the popular DJs right now that have got it goin’ on. This makes this event one not to miss this weekend. Doors open at 9 p.m. and for a limited time, you can get 2 tickets for $30.

Thursday, June 5

Emby Alexander/ B.O.T.S./ Longbirds/ DJ Keymo @ Crescent Ballroom

This wouldn’t be your normal cup of EDM tea, but if you’re interested in finding out what indie and electronic sound like when mixed together, this is the ideal event.

Burlesque @ W Scottsdale

If you missed it last week, it’s here for the summer. Don’t miss numbers from Moulin Rouge, Chicago and Burlesque.

Friday, June 6

UH HUH HER/ DJ Kim Anh @ Marquee Theater

Get your fill of electro-pop and leave happy and energized. We know it sounds cheesy, but what’s not to love? Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m. Buy tickets ahead for $20 or at the door for $25.

One More Time: A Tribute To Daft Punk @ Crescent Ballroom

When we say “tribute” we mean a full-on replicated tribute to Daft Punk with chrome helmets and a full scale stage so you get all the effects that Daft Punk bring to you.

Saturday, June 7

Liquid Stranger/ Grandtheft @ Monarch Theatre

Get ready to have quite a time with these two making a buzz. Liquid Stranger has plenty of beats to keep your vibe strong with multiple albums and if you’re a little too amped, don’t worry—he’s a yoga instructor who spent four years in Ashram so we’re confident he’ll have the healing tools to take you down a notch, or a few. You’ll also be in confident hands with Grandtheft who is known to be one of Canada’s best live DJs. Doors open at 9 p.m. and tickets are $18 each.

Release Summer Pool Parties @ Talking Stick Resort

If you’re feeling a little weather from the night before and Saturday night is not an option, you might as well get your tan on with a bunch of other like-minded people. Maybe that rum runner will even give you your second wind.

One More Time: A Tribute To Daft Punk @ Crescent Ballroom

If you can’t make the Friday night show, well, there’s always Saturday night. Hey, maybe you’ll it so much you’ll go back for a second time!

Afterglow @ W Scottsdale

If you just can’t see past Camelback mountain then take it in at Afterglow at the W Scottsdale where you can listen to live beats and sip pretty with the rest.

Tech N9ne @ Marquee Theater

We know this isn’t your normal poison, but we all know who Tech N9ne is, right? Get your hip-hop and rap game face on and don’t be afraid to sing along. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $35.

International Saturdays @ INTL

If you insist on staying in Scottsdale to get your EDM fix on Saturday night then try this champagne bar and club out. We assume International Saturdays HAS to have a little EDM in the mixture!

Sunday, June 8

Adventure Club @ Maya Day & Nightclub

Not only can you have yourself a little Sunday Funday, but you can even enter a chance to win a meet-and-greet with this Canadian duo. Enter on Maya’s Facebook Page and keep your fingers crossed. Otherwise, pull your stuff together on Sunday morning as doors open at 11 a.m.
