Black Swan

From the outside, it looks like just another British pub in Bristol.  The seating, decor, bar: it all points to a cosy night out with a few pints of ale; except occasionally, the Black Swan opens its doors until 6am and blasts out some seriously loud drum and bass.  Promoters use this venue on an ad hoc basis and the music always sticks to the bass-heavy end of the spectrum, with dub and breakcore also featured regularly.

Very much a party venue where anything goes, it’s not one for a quiet night out.  The decor is minimal, but during winter there is often a large fire in the garden.  It adds to the impression that the Black Swan has more of a house party style atmosphere than a club vibe.  Good fun, if you can keep up.
