Cheer Up Charlie’s

Located in the heart of East Austin is a bastion of freedom and expression in the form of cultivated night life, and rambunctious rampant youthful energy. While the city may be known for it’s giant mega bars, and rows of line dancing girls doing tequila shots, this all inclusive gem is a far cry from the typical Texas fare; offering a setting that will make most anyone feel welcome and loved. Cheer Up Charlie’s is also known for it’s range of vegan friendly drinks, and snack in addition to it’s plethora of live events, and hosted dance parties. Though it might still be debatable how much Kombucha is too much Kombucha on the dance floor, it’s nice to know that someone has that market covered. Not to say that it’s going to leave those out who are looking for something a little more straightforward either. The bar has a nice selection of local craft beers, and a versatile stock of “biodynamic” wine. Perhaps the biggest draw for all these liquid concoctions is the outdoor patio that ensures you’ll be enveloped by the bright sun, or the starry sky; depending. To top it all off, you’ll be able to grab something great from a rotating selection of food carts, and food trucks that appear in the back of the bar. If you’re looking for a slice of real diversity all nestled in a rad dance spot in East Austin, this is probably your best bet.
