About Karma Lounge Ltd

The music was at a great volume level, and the dance floor was well lit and clean. Decor was impressive as well – a nice coordinated scene that made the bar classy.

Karma Lounge has a decent amount of self awareness going for it to help differentiate itself from the crowded hustle and bustle that has become downtown Austin. In fact the trendy club prides itself on doing everything just a bit different than its contemporaries in the area. This might be because Karma Lounge has been doing it long enough to understand what works, and what doesn’t, opting for delivering a straightforward experience, and doing it better than anyone else around. So while you may not find the hottest trends being passed through Karma Lounge’s own filter, and then delivering those trends in a cocktail glass with pounding bass, you will find consistency and quality.

This might be why so many DJs have played residencies at the spot over the years or why the locals swear by the spot as the first stop of the marathon club hopping nights.  It’s solid, and somewhat predictable in the chaotic ever changing landscape that is the Wharehouse District. Open 7 days a week, and featuring some regular rotation events like Dubstep Tuesdays, Electronic Wednesdays, Beer Pong Thursdays, and more, the staff and ownership at Karma Lounge have a pretty set schedule.  With all that being said, you should be well aware that you are definitely going to run into some old school flavor at Karma Lounge. Everything from the themed nights, to the super stiff drinks and the curvy girls shaking the floor loose to songs that might have seen rotation before they were even born. All of these things are endearing hallmarks of a place that has become a staple of the night life in Austin
