Launchpad

As the name implies, Launchpad has been the jumping off point for many local Albuquerque bands. This seasoned house of rock is a great spot to check out small bands before they hit it big. Launchpad has made a name for itself in the Albuquerque rock scene by being a venue that’s devoted almost exclusively to rock.

While the venue may be small, the layout makes up for what it may lack in space. Intimacy is the name of the game here, with a stage so close to the audience you’ll forget the band isn’t just one of the crowd. In fact, patrons report frequently rubbing elbows at the bar with the bands after their set.

The stage is wisely elevated about four feet, which provides optimal views no matter where you’re standing, and is located directly in front of the dance floor. Beer tubs are scattered around the periphery of the floor, so when you’re feeling thirsty you can simply grab, pay, and enjoy – no need to waste your time in long lines!

While the majority of the acts you’ll see coming through Launchpad are turning out quality rock and roll, there are also frequent dance parties with EDM and house.
