About OPA Bastille

Situated just a few steps from Bastille Square, the OPA is like no other place in the quarter.  The visitor might think that he or she has materialized somewhere in New York’s East Village.  The high-ceilinged entrance hall is encrusted with bricks remnant of the building’s former use.  The long bar spans the width of the main room in front of a stage that has been equipped with some of the best in sound technology.  A staircase spirals upward from the center of the room to the mezzanine, its lounge sofas, and its smoking area.  At the back, a discreet door allows the DJs to reach the decks in the booth overlooking the room.  Although the concerts are dominated by rock music, cross-disciplinary music is not absent, and sets of funk, dual platter jazz, or a personal song are not unheard-of.  On the weekends, once midnight falls, DJ’s from all over the world line up in the lasers and play techno, minimal, house and all other types of music that keeps guests dancing until dawn.  All that this loft club has to offer comes with no cover charge.  Happy Hours : Weekdays 7:30 PM-8:30 PM and Midnight to 1:00 AM; weekends from 8:00 PM and again at midnight.  Cocktails cost about 10-12 euros; beer at 5 euros for a half.  The club is open weekends from midnight until 6:00 AM, and concerts are held on weeknights starting at 7:30 PM.
