About ProvocateurLocated at the back of Ganesvoort Hotel, the Provocateur is divided into two distinct spaces. There is a lavish club on one side and a garden lounge on the other. Open and airy, the place has an array of birch trees along with a lot of wrought iron furniture under a huge glass ceiling that retracts completely during the summer.
The crowd mostly consists of party girls and rich businessmen who like to order their bottles at enormous crescent shaped banquettes, with each table area designed with photo murals to give the place a look of a European dollhouse.
Decorated in black and purple, the place has sexy dim lighting along with space age chandeliers. With huge angel wings over the glitterati, the venue often hosts popular DJs who get Vogue girls spinning on poles.
The crowd is mixed and includes socialites, affluent businessmen, models, and European jet setters mostly in their 20s to 50s. DJs play high energy music and there are regular world famous acts.
Dress code includes suits, designer wear, miniskirts, Sergio Rossis, Louboutins, and high heels.
The best nights to hit the club are Fridays and Saturdays .
